Walk - Charlton

Tuesday, 6 June 2017

Leaders Clive & Susan Roylance

At around 3 miles, the walk starts at The Three Moorhens pub, Hitchin Hill, Hitchin, SG4 9AJ. After crossing the footbridge, there is a great view from Hitchin Hill, followed by open fields to
skirt the edge of the village of Charlton. Passing close to the source of the River Hiz there is a steady but gentle incline until Tatmorehills Lane.

The walk returns via Maydencroft Lane, more open fields and a final woodland walk. There are no stiles and, although there is a small amount of road walking, the terrain could be muddy and boots are recommended.

The Three Moorhens is a Greene King pub with a good choice of food including specials, a £4.99 selection and an offer for those in the ‘Golden Years’.

Please meet at the pub at 10.15am for a 10.30am start. Mobile on the day 07831 417687.

Booking is available immediately preferably by emailing cliveroylance@btinternet.com or by
