Once again, the LALG 2009 Autumn Golf Tournament was held at Wyboston Lakes with a full
participation of 40 players.
We have come to expect good weather on these occasions and, although the weather was not as fine as we have had in all previous years, it was dry and fine for the golf. Wyboston always does us proud, the course was in excellent condition, our welcome at the club was very warm and we enjoyed an excellent 2-course meal.
Many teams returned excellent figures for the Texas scramble competition with eight of the ten teams scoring more than 40 points, ie. beating par by more than four. The winning team was Dorothy Browne (on her birthday), Angela Gray, Peter Bransby and Guy Osborne with 47 points. Runners-up were 2 teams on 43 points – Pat Madden, Alison Webber, Stan Bonin and Michael Homfrey-Cooper, and Gill Cheaney, Pam Page, Danny Scourfield and John McCormick. Other prizes were won by Pam Page, Jill Bransby, John McCormick and John Logue.
