The walk this month will be from the Rose & Crown, Ashwell High St. SG7 5NP. Meet at the pub at 10.15am for a 10.30 start. At a little over 5 miles there's only a long gentle incline near the start to Newham Hill, where there are fine views of Ashwell church tower and extensive countryside. The remainder of the walk is level and will pass the medieval manor Hinxworth Place, the home of the renowned sculptor John Mills, returning via Loves Lane, then crossing the River Rhee and through the edge of Ashwell village.
