Ashridge Area

Sunday, 23 October 2016

Ashridge and adjoining Hills and Commons. A circular walk of 14 miles with around 1500 feet of climbing, some of which is steep, from the Bridgewater Monument at Ashridge. The walk is mostly on good paths via Aldbury Village, Pitstone Hill, Beacon Hill and Gallows Hill, returning through Ashridge Park, Frithden Beeches and Berkhampsted Common to the Monument. Bring food and drink for the day as no pub stop is planned and there is no opportunity to replenish drinks en-route. We should finish the walk in time for a cup of tea (and cake) at the café near the monument before returning to Letchworth. Meet at Sollershott Green for departure at 8.15am by shared cars to Ashridge. Note: the Arena Car Park is not available

Walk Leader: David Wilkins (01462 674862).
