London City Synagogues

We will get the train to London Moorgate leaving Baldock 9.52am, Letchworth 9.56, Hitchin10.00am (meet in booking halls at 9.30am).

After tea/coffee we will have a guided tour of Bevis Marks Synagogue. The Synagogue is a Grade I listed building used by the Sephardi Community; it is the only synagogue in Europe that has held regular services continuously for over 300 years. In the afternoon we will have a guided tour of Sandys Row Synagogue, London’s oldest Ashkenazi Synagogue founded in 1854 by Dutch families. It is a 10-minute walk between each location. Return at 3.50pm from Moorgate.

More details and booking at Letchworth Local and Tourist Information, Station Road from Friday 1 July. Cost tbc but is expected to be about £10 for LALG members, £13 non-LALG members (£2.50 less for National Trust members providing you have a valid membership card on the day) plus train fare.
