Visit to Coton Manor - CANCELLED

Thursday, 11 August 2016 - 8:45am

The Garden belongs to Ian and Susie Pasley-Tyler and has been lovingly maintained by three generations of the same family for nearly 90 years. The ten acre garden was originally laid out by the grandparents of the present owners in 1925. Luxuriant borders will delight plant enthusiasts while everyone will enjoy the charm and special atmosphere of the garden, with colour and interest maintained throughout the seasons. Over a thousand varieties of plants are propagated in the nursery, many are unusual and not easily found elsewhere and are available to purchase.

The Stableyard Café serves home-made lunches between 12 noon and 2.30pm with plenty of options for vegetarians with tea, coffee and cakes served all the afternoon. Meals can also be enjoyed outside beneath a magnificent black walnut tree.

We will be stopping at Frost’s Garden Centre where you may purchase coffee and browse before proceeding to Coton Manor, arriving at approximately 12 noon.

The cost of the trip is £23 for LALG members and £25 for non-members. This includes the coach and entrance to the garden. We will be leaving Baldock (opposite The Boot, near Tesco) at 8.45am and Letchworth (opposite Barclays Bank) at 9.00am.To book please telephone Anita Cook (01462 892136) on Wednesday 8 July after 9.30am
