Visit to Northampton and Cottesbrook

Thursday, 14 July 2016 - 8:45am

Thursday 14 July – Cottesbrooke Hall
Cottesbrooke Hall is a wonderful Queen Anne house dating from 1702, set in 13 acres of rural Northamptonshire with delightful award-winning gardens and is the much-loved home of the Macdonal/Buchanan family.
It is the home of the famous Woolavington collection of sporting art – the finest in Europe with paintings by Stubbs, Ben Marshall and Alfred Munnings. There are also some exceptional English and French furniture, bronzes and fine porcelain.
We will be leaving Baldock (opposite The Boot near Tesco) at 8.45am and Letchworth at 9.00am heading to Northampton where we will spend time before proceeding to Cottesbrooke at 1.30pm. Homemade cakes together with tea, coffee and cold drinks are available throughout the afternoon in the Old Laundry Room. The cost of the trip is £23 for LALG members and £25 for non-members, which includes the coach, a tour of the house and admission to the beautiful gardens. To book please telephone Anita Cook (01462 892136) after 9.30am on Thursday 2 June.
