Harlington - Sunday Morning 42mi.

Sunday 16th August - Excellent 40+ miles of country lanes

Letchworth to Harlington via Pulloxhill and back via Lilley, seemed to be a route of hills !

Perfect cycling weather all day, we had a steady ride out through Ickleford, Shillington, towards Gravenhurst before reaching the hill at Pulloxhill. As usual we met the cyclists that breezed past just when we were thinking going was hard, but undeterred we know we are all getting fitter.

But on the main road down to Harlington we found the dilapidated state of Bedfordshire highways and had the misfortune to encur a serious puncture on a particularly deep pothole. With a swift change of innertube we ploughed on to find the Harlington Rd closed to traffic and so took a lovely diversion over J12 of the M1 with a stop at the garden centre there.

On our way back using delightful lanes via Sundon, Streatley, a stop at Lilley, before skirting Preston and back in to Letchworth by way of Great Wymondley.
