Savill Gardens - Dorney Court

Wednesday, 5 August 2015 - 9:00am

Savill Gardens & Dorney Court Wednesday August 5th.

Dorney Court is one of England’s most beautiful Tudor Manor Houses set amidst acres of
mature parkland and encircled by well-tended yew hedges. The remarkable and characterful House is Grade 1 listed and designated as being of outstanding architectural and historical interest.
Beautiful gardens and acres of mature parkland surround the House completing a picture of tranquil rural harmony. Ancient yew hedges and herbaceous borders divide lush green lawns framed by ornamental trees.
The Estate has been the home of the Palmer family for more than 450 years,
passing from father to son through thirteen generations.
We start at 11.30am with a guided tour of the house before it is open to the public,
followed by free time to spend in the garden, parkland or village. Light snacks are
available or you may take a picnic to eat in the gardens.
The cost will be £21 LALG members, £23 non-members. The coach will leave
Baldock outside Templars Restaurant (formerly Zeus) at 9.00am and Letchworth
opposite Barclays bank at 9.15am.
