Following the successful and popular talk by Richard Buckley in October 2013, I am organising a visit to the new visitor centre in Leicester and the Bosworth Battlefield site.  Please note that this is before the king’s body is reburied in Leicester Cathedral.

We will pick up at Baldock outside Templars Restaurant (formerly Zeus) at 8.00 and opposite Barclays Bank in Letchworth at 8.15.  On arrival at the visitor centre at about 10.00 we will split into two groups to look at the exhibition; there is a cafe where we can get hot drinks, sandwiches, snacks and jacket potatoes.  We will leave at 1.00 pm for the battlefield visitor centre at Sutton Cheney, arriving about 2.00 pm; as well as the exhibition, you can walk over part of the site of the battle, but the area where we now know that much of the fighting took place (Dadlington) is not currently accessible.  We will leave at 4.30 and should arrive back in Hertfordshire by 7.00 pm.

Cost:  £27, to include coach and admissions.

To book, please ring Kate Thompson on (01462) 621248 or e-mail  Any places left after 15 February will be offered to non-members, at a cost of £30.
