Stuart and Jean presented on South American Wines...

 

The Wines

Tacama Gran Tinto - “An elegant blend of Malbec, Tannat and Petit Verdot, shows a glistening red colour. On the nose, aromas of red cherry and berry fruits with smokey herbal notes, supported by very soft and gentle tannins. A light and smooth texture, elegant fruit flavours with hints of spice.”

  • Alcohol ABV 12.5%
  • Grapes Malbec, Tannat , Petit Verdot
  • To the eye glistening red
  • On the nose red cherry, berry fruits , smokey herbal notes
  • In the mouth elegant, light body, soft tannin, smooth
  • Great with grilled meat, chicken, pasta with meat sauces,
  • Altitude of vineyards 400m, Peru, Valley of Ica​

Pisano Rio de Los Pajaros Torrontés -​ “Pale golden yellow in colour, a complex and generous bouquet with suggestive honey and spice aromas. Fresh, crisp and well balanced on the palate.”

  • Alcohol ABV 14%
  • Grapes 100% Torrontés
  • To the eye pale golden yellow
  • On the nose honey, spices, wild roses, pear-drop fruits
  • In the mouth dry, crisp, medium body, clean fruit
  • Great with Chinese noodles, satay, rich creamy seafood dishes Ideal occasion aperitif
  • Altitude of vineyards Uruguay - Canelones - Progreso

Giminez Mendez Alta Reserva Tannat - “The Alta Reserva wines are complex, challenging and exciting to the senses. This Tannat has elegant tannins, rich volume and a smooth, long finish. Special care has been taken in maintaining the balance between fruit and oak."

  • Grapes 100% Tannat
  • To the eye intense purple
  • On the nose cedar, raspberry, plum In the mouth generous body, elegant tannins
  • Great with red meat, game, cheese, chocolate
  • Altitude of vineyards Uruguay -Canelones - Las Brujas

Miolo Pinot Grigio - “ Exhibits a pale straw colour. The bouquet includes notes of citrus fruit, wild flowers, peardrops as well as fresh brioche. The palate is well balanced with a good concentration of fruit, pleasant texture and a refreshing dry finish.”

  • Alcohol ABV 14%
  • Grapes 100% Pinot Grigio
  • To the eye pale straw colour
  • On the nose citrus fruit, wild flowers, peardrops, fresh brioche
  • In the mouth dry, refreshing, good fruit, good balance
  • Great with pork, seafood, pasta, spicy sauces
  • Total production 90,000 bottles
  • Altitude of vineyards 300m, Brazil -Rio Grande do Sul - Fronteira /Campanha

There  were two further Argentinian wines one Red and one White from Asda, for which there are no tasting notes.
