Firkin Club

This group meets monthly to sample real ales and to put world affairs into a personal perspective, viewed through our pint glass.

We usually alternate meetings between The Fox in Willian, Three Magnets, Leys Avenue and the Garden Gity Brewery, The Wynd,

Please Note - the monthly meetings now alternate between Tuesdays and Thursdays because of the venues.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday 13 December, 8.00pm at Garden City Brewery, The Wynd, Letchworth, where we are promised a good selection of real ales including those made on the premises in the heart of the Garden City. New 

New members are welcome to join us to help with a subjective tasting of the latest ales.

The first ‘Firkin Club’ field trip took part on a lovely day in January when members were able to go on a walking tour of several pubs in Cambridge that were renowned for their real ales.

Maid Marian Blonde (4.5%) from Springhead Brewery in Retford, Notts.  A golden beer with a fruity orange aroma and a dry peppery finish.

We now have three new ales to try each month and last month we had 3 ales with contrasting tastes drawn from different parts of England:
