Slower Walkers

Our easy-paced walks are led by our volunteer Walk Leaders and are designed for casual and occasional walkers as well as for regulars.

The circular walks cover 3 miles, largely over level ground, and avoiding stiles. Walks start and finish at a pub, with lunch available for those who wish to stay.

We meet monthly on weekdays, Monday one month, rolling to Tuesday the next and so on through to Friday, before returning to Monday. This enables those with other regular commitments to join at least some of our walks.

We normally meet at Sollershott Green at 10 a.m. to share cars, although arrangements can be made to join the group at the pub. See the 'Group Events' panel to the right, or the  LALG Newsletter for walk details and how to book your place direct with the Walk Leader. The walks have become very popular and numbers for each walk may have to be restricted at the Walk Leaders discretion, so early booking is strongly recommended.

Important Message: We urgently need walk leader volunteers for January 2012 onwards so please don‘t be shy in coming forward.

Slower Walkers and Midweek Amblers/Ramblers - Notice

Both of these groups have had increased popularity this season, resulting in an embarrassment of numbers wishing to walk with us. For this reason in future we feel it necessary to limit each walk to around 25 walkers. We consider this is better logistically both for the walk and for the choice of pub we use.

As you are aware our groups share a similar plan involving more or less a two hour walk followed by a pub lunch, with many people being involved with both groups. Whilst our groups may in future be limiting our numbers there is always an opportunity to start another group and share this popular format.
