Feb 2011 Meeting
We enjoyed 2 new ales: First, Easy Rider (4.3%) from Kelham Island Brewery, situated in the heart of
Sheffield. It was a premium strength pale ale with an initial crisp bitterness gently giving
way to a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Also, (& most members. favourite), Phoenix (4.2%) from the former Tolly Cobbold, which was sold to Ridley's in 2002 and then on to Greene King in 2005. This rich, smooth, full bodied ale was developed by GK to resurrect the name. It had a distinctive biscuit, malt and fruit flavour, with just a hint of sweetness. Delicious!
