The Page(s) of the website explained
On the home page; we put current ‘significant’ entries. We try to change the top part, every month. If you scroll down this page you will find a ‘fixed’ introduction to LALG and a short guide on using the website.
The Top menu bar: (Home, Groups, Calendar, About Us, Contact Us, Join LALG) operate as follows:
Groups & selections are available by Group type (as 2nd line menu bar) or A to Z
Calendar A calendar is displayed showing meetings etc these are fed through from group 'Events' pages described below.
Newsletter gives access to previous LALG Newsletters (the current month, only available to members)
About Us shows a sub menu: ( Get Going, Discounts, Committee, & Using the Website)
Contact Us & Join LALG: these go to screens offering entry panels and downloadable forms
The 2nd Menu Bar (Central,Arts & Culture,Social, Sport & Games, Languages, Walking, Others, Associated Groups)
Select any heading & a list of groups is displayed. Scroll through to find a target group and click.
This will take you to the GROUP Page. We use this page to explain ‘what the group is all about’. The GROUP Page, once agreed, is rarely changed.
On the right of the Group Page there will be a GROUP Contact box and under that there may be an EVENTS box. Individual ‘Events’ are created from the entries in the newsletter. EVENTS can show a title, date, time and descriptive details. The system automatically removes EVENT entries when the day of the event has passed and, if there are no more entries for that Group, the EVENT box itself disappears. The system also automatically feeds the event entry into the ‘Calendar’ item of the menu bar. The Calendar entry is NOT removed when the day is passed.
Double click on any EVENT title to read all about it. Click the Group icon to return to the GROUP page.
Some groups provided information for the creation of REPORTS of prior events. If so, a reminder box will appear on the right (above the Group Contact box), inviting you to scroll down and read any reports there may be.
Double click on the title of the report to read it in full. Click the Group icon to return to the GROUP page,
Finally, you may have a reminder box showing that the group has provided enough pictures to create ‘PHOTO Galleries’.
