Letchworth Caribbean Harmony Group

The Letchworth Caribbean Harmony Group was set up in 2007 to promote Caribbean cultural, social and educational activities amongst the town’s community.

We are pleased to welcome anyone sympathetic to the group’s aims and objectives.

Over 60’s Fortnightly Meetings are held at North Herts District Council , Gernon Road, Letchworth, SG6 3JF from 12:00 to 13:00 on Thursdays.

The meeting subscription fee is £1.00 plus a yearly membership of £5.00.

The events and activities of the group have included:

Entertainment - Live Music - Poetry - Caribbean Food.

Over 60’s Club - Saturday Monthly Meeting/Social
Easter Celebration - Summer BBQ
Picnic and Games At The Common
“Get Involved” Event At The Spirella Building (LCHG Stand)
Letchworth Fun Day (To Support The LCGH Stand)
Trip To Skegness - Trip To France - Trip to Great Yarmouth
Black History Month Celebration - Choir

We meet monthly on a Saturday at Howard Garden Social and Day Care Centre, Norton Way South Letchworth Garden City Herts SG6 1SU.
These meetings will include the sale of refreshments, children’s activities, music, guest speakers, games e.g. dominoes and cards.

Previous events and reports

Guest speakers to date have been from the Stevenage World Forum, North Herts District Council, Heritage Foundation, George Harris acclaimed actor and Patron of the group, Jenny Routh from Hertfordshire Constabulary and members of Jobcentre Plus office in Letchworth.

Mark Straker, an ex resident of Letchworth and a Film Maker, recently stated ‘what the group is doing is great!’ and wants to be kept informed of our developments.

North Herts District Council, Hertfordshire Constabulary and Letchworth Garden City council have been a great support to the group offering assistance when required.
