We started our walk of the Hertfordshire Way, using the Friends of the Hertfordshire Way book as our guide, in Widford to the east of Ware.
From Widford we walked along the Ash Valley to Much Hadham where we took a circular tour round the village. From Much Hadman we headed east over the higher ground which separates the Ash and Stort valleys through Perry Green, Tye Green and Thorley. We then crossed over the Bishops Stortford by-pass and continued east crossing the Liverpool Street to Cambridge railway line at Thorley Street. We then headed north crossing the railway once more and on into the centre of Bishops Stortford. Here are some photos from our walk
