LALG Computer Group:  notes of the meeting held on 19 May 2010 at 152 Kristiansand Way, Letchworth Garden City

Present:  Jean and Ray de Vere, John Gregory, Robin Linford, Henry Marshall and Kate Thompson.  Several apologies were received.

Ø  Robin reported a problem with his pc on return from holiday.  It was suggested that he try to start it in safe mode and then use the ‘Restore point’ facility.

Ø  Ray and Jean were still having problems with their e-mail.  They had upgraded to a platinum service with AOL/talktalk.  Ray had made four phone calls and was waiting to receive some filters.

Ø  John Gregory is now the webmaster for the town twinning website; he reported that Alan Ross and he were editing the LALG website.

Ø  Henry described a facility called ‘Dropbox’, which he had discovered when doing some Latin transcripts for the Norton local history group.  Dropbox is is a Web 2.0 based file hosting service which uses cloud computing to enable users to store and share files and folders with others across the Internet using file synchronization.  It can be downloaded from www.dropbox.com.
