Saturday 1st August
Our group took to the lanes and enjoyed perfect cycling weather for a 36mi ride out to Hare Street, near Buntingford with a trip time of about four and a half hours.
Our goal was tea at The Old Swan Tea Shop, but on passing through the picturesque village of Westmill we were luckily drawn to the tea shop on the green. Luck because the tea was excellent and the cakes superb - ask our group about the Strawberry and Rose sponge cake, secondly The Old Swan was closed.
Outward leg was Letchworth, Baldock, Weston, Ardley, Westmill, Buntingford, Hare Street. Return leg was Barkway, Sandon, Wallington, Baldock and back to Letchworth.
